My great-aunt Dorothy Porter Isom served as one of General MacArthur's secretaries in Japan after WWII.  She was a teacher and a librarian and a great woman, from what my grandpa told me.  My great-grandmother died when my grandpa was around two and Dorothy helped raise her two younger brothers.

She sent home this kimono as a souvenir from her stay in Japan.   My Grandma had it in her closet and when she died, I claimed it.  I have it hanging on the wall in my living room.
